Slow Cooker Steak Sandwiches
I have always been a lover of steak sandwiches. I used to order them wherever I could. I had kind of forgotten about them for a few years and then ran across a recipe and decided to try and create my own. This turned out great and was delicious! I love crisping them in the broiler for a few minutes once the sandwich is all put together. This gives the cheese a chance to melt as well which is the best part in my opinion.
Ingredients:
-1.5 lbs beef round steak
-1 or 2 large green pepper chopped
-1/2 onion chopped
-1 can beef broth
-garlic powder
-envelope of Italian dressing seasoning
-hoagie buns
-swiss cheese (provolone is yummy too)
Method:
Spray crock pot with nonstick spray. Cut beef into strips and put in crock pot. Add rest of the ingredients in the order listed. Cook on low 7-8 hours or high 3-4. Put meat on hoagie buns and top with Swiss cheese. We like to put ours under the broiler to crisp up the buns and melt the cheese. I love to add a little mayonnaise on mine for a creamy texture. I’ve heard mustard is yummy on steak sandwiches too if you like it.
